We received some coverage on two of our programs yesterday on WDBJ7 for the Roanoke Connect database and in this morning’s Roanoke Times as a summary of yesterday’s entrepreneurship fair.
Yesterday’s fair had about 90 people in attendance and roughly 15 service providers from local. state and federal agencies. Fahad Hassan – our keynote speaker – really did a fantastic job talking about his experiences at the age of 21.
As both news pieces mention, we have not solved the brain drain phenomenon, but we are making progress. I do not think we will say July 13, 2011 was the day we turned it around, but the tipping point is getting closer. Whether you want to work for someone else or start your own business, there are opportunities (professional and social) for you in the Roanoke and New River Valleys of Virginia. We just have to get you connected and that is the mission of this blog.
