Roanoke has lost two quality leaders and young adults at the helm of two progressive organizations in the region. David Diaz former executive director of Downtown Roanoke Inc. is leaving Roanoke to take a similar position in Raleigh. Gordie Ziegler is stepping down as executive director of the NCTC Technology Council to take a sales position with a Roanoke firm Sycom Technologies.
Both of these individuals did an outstanding job leading their organizations and created a wonderful positive voice for regionalism, retaining and attracting young adults, the importance of technology firms, downtown housing, etc.
Their service should be recognized and we are blessed to have had them in these roles for a number of years.
